Senior Backend Developer For Fintech App.

Dear Candidate,

We are a team of highly skilled entrepreneurs, technologist and banking experts on a mission to launch the next-gen of payment app in the UK. We are building our foundation MVP platform using external ‘banking-as-service’ and open-banking API’s to goto market really fast.

What we are looking for:

An expert backend engineer with minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in building backend services for mobile and web platform. Prior experience of working with payments/wallet/banking application would be ideal.

Where we are now:

We have completed the requirement gathering and design phase. All key technical requirements/user stories are logged in JIRA. Front-end development for native mobile app has already started using flutter.

Key journeys in scope are: signup/login, onboarding/personalisation, KYC, home, bank cards, manage cards, rewards, cashback, competitions/prizes, brand offers, chat and profile. Draft database schema and API specification document is also ready.

What we expect from you:

1. Review and suggest changes to application framework, technical architecture and micro-services strategy, database design.

2. Review third party API’s like Mastercard, banking-as-service providers like Railsbank, and other cashback/rewards API’s and build our micro-services implementation plan. Example of external API’s:

3. Build the development environment in AWS/GCP, create and setup database and start development of business layer API’s. We are flexible on technology and will be happy to consider your preference during interview. But we have plans to use node.js/javascript stack.

d. Use test driven methodology, complete development of all the API’s and expose end-points for front-end to consume and do bug-fixes as required. Finally you will deliver necessary documentation and complete this project with deploy the code into live environment.

We dont expect this to be a massive work load due to usage of pre-built/off-the-shelf third party API’s (refer examples above). You must be able to work on a full-time basis for 4 weeks to deliver this project.
