LORAM – QMS Staffing and Structure Recommendation- QMS Consultant

Loram is seeking a Quality Management System (QMS) consultant that can provide the recommendation of a 3rd Party (the hired consultant) to advise the Loram Quality and Continuous Improvement (CI) Management Team and division management for the size and composition of the QMS and CI team. This is not a long-term engagement but rather to provide a 3rd Party reference point for management to help guide the department’s development. The goal is to produce the report in March and April 2023 but the timeline can be changed based on availability and proposal discussion.

Scope: The consultant statement of work is negotiable based on a proposal, but is conceptualized as follows:
1- Less than one-week (< 40-hours) of discovery with the Loram Quality Manager (virtual interviews or on-site visits)
2- Less than one-week (< 40-hours) of benchmarking for similar industry QMS departments.
3- One-week (40-hours) to develop and present recommendations to the QMS department.
Note: The above scope is based on finding a consultant that has experience with similar industries (custom-engineered manufacturing) to provide benchmarking data as indicated above.

Company Description: Loram Maintenance of Way Inc. is a railway maintenance manufacturing and services company that has between 1,200 and 1,600 employees and revenue between $200MM and $300M annually. Loram is a privately held company, so the stated size and revenue information is based on estimates from public sources. Loram Quality department is largely dedicated to the manufacturing portion of the company which produces custom-engineered railway vehicles that perform maintenance activities for the Class I railways.
