Looking for a python specialist to update the papercut project at https://github.com/TBOpen/papercut
that uses Python 2.x to work with Python 3.x as well as phpBB 3.3.2 to at least the current level (allowed to post/read using newsreader if logged in) as well as clean up the code. The development would need to be done on your own servers and access to the new GIT branch can be given as needed. I will need to test on your phpBB 3.3.2 server initially to ensure functionally works before running local test on production system.

Papercut runs as an open-source NNTP server and interacts with the phpBB databases to allow NNTP reader access to phpBB

Note: The existing papercut version supports phpBB 3.0.11 so the project will require you to check for database and other changes to phpBB. It’s known that starting in phpBB 3.1.x version a set of new password hashes were created. So it must support both the old $H$ version as well as the new versions $2y$n$ (where n is a number) and $H2y$ hashes.
