Multiple Choice Assessment and Teaching Application.

The project is to develop a program/application to evaluate the cognitive abilities of children and young adults with developmental disabilities, who are also non-verbal or minimally verbal. Each page of the application allows the Behaviorist and/or Teacher to develop ahead of time or on the fly questions with answers that the student/client can answer using a touch screen. The app will provide instant feedback to the student/client. Although simple in concept, the application will allow in depth assessment of the student/clients abilities and disabilities, using questions to break down the communication process into small steps including hearing/seeing, sensory processing, association, integration, motor planning and execution.
I am not a programmer, but have started an HTML file which is attached. I am not able to successfully include a variable prompt allowing the behaviorist/teacher to enter a correct answer choice and combine that with an if else statement to then show the correct/incorrect statement in response to the client’s touch response to the question. I also have not skills with CSS to create an appealing page presentation and have no knowledge to created successive pages so that each page holds only one question with answers. The app should allow the behaviorist/teacher the option to prepare the questions ahead of time and save the work without the program/app erasing their work at start-up. For on the fly use of the app, having voice to text would help the behaviorist/teacher in a classroom allowing spontaneous use of the app. I am certain once the app is in use, that we will get useful feedback to improve the product over time.
The file ChallegeQuestions2.html gives you the basic concepts of the app. I also include experiment.html where I attempted to develop a user prompt to enter the teacher choice for correct response, but I was not able to link this to an if else statement so the appropriate response string would print in the input box. I don’t mind if you find my feeble attempts a little humorous. A little levity is good for the soul. Doc
