iOS/Android Mapping Expert

We are looking for a mapping expert to help implement offline mapping in our Android/iOS apps.

End users will select from a pre-defined list of areas, and we need to ensure that the maps for those areas are downloaded on device and available for offline use. There are no navigation/routing requirements, we just need to be able to display the base map tiles.

At present we have our own tile server, running mod_tile/renderd. We are open to changing the backend tile server/source if an alternative would be better for our needs.

We are looking for someone with extensive experience working with maps on mobile platforms and knowledge of the various different mapping libraries available to select the best implementation strategy to meet our needs. You should also have a strong knowledge of working with map/geospatial data on the back end.

Our client apps are built on KMM, using Jetpack Compose for the Android frontend and SwiftUI for iOS.
