Flutter – Fetch pedometer steps since boot on background fetch iOS/Android

I need access to pedometer data on the native background fetch event.
Specifically steps since boot. But for example, stepCountStream from https://pub.dev/packages/pedometer is not emitting any events if it is accessed through background fetch. A foreground service is not a valid workaround.
Please bid on the project if you think you can solve the problem.
