Evaluation of Thermoelectric Properties of Bismuth Antimony Telluride

A. Thermal Properties
1. Evaluate the thermal conductivity of Bismuth Antimony Telluride by adopting the standard procedure for laser flash method.
2. Draw the temperature dependent behavior of thermal diffusivity and specific heat capacity of Bismuth Antimony Telluride evaluated from the LAFA-457 by experimentation during Lab session
3. Finally display the temperature dependent data for estimated thermal conductivity values.
4. Evaluate the phonon contribution of thermal conductivity using the Wiedemann–Franz’s law for L = 2.0 × 10-08 V2 K-2.

B. Electrical Properties
1. Evaluate the electrical conductivity from the experimental data obtained during lab session and then using the Seebeck coefficient estimate the power factor values and exhibit the data graphically.

C. Thermoelectric Figure of Merit
1. Estimate the thermoelectric figure of merit of Bismuth Antimony Telluride using the following equation:
where S, σ, k and T are the Seebeck coefficient, electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity and absolute temperature.
2. Summarize the results by explaining the temperature dependent ZT values graphically
