Editing 60,000 Word Tell All Crime Book
Project detail
I am part of a team that is assembling a book editing team to revise a book, Scheming in the Dark. In order to be eligible for this opportunity, you should have experience with proofreading/developmental editing.
The book involves many moving components, too many to discuss in the general job description. However, you should have an interest in one of the following fields: Education, Law, True Crime, Environmentalism, Technology.
Given the nature of this project, it is best that we review each individual chapter before proceeding to the next one.
Our work together should lead to a book where we have:
The right book title (Scheming in the Dark is the best we could come up with)
Chapter titles (they currently have no name)
A valid assessment of whether my claims are 100% backed by documents or some other source, as this book is completely fact-driven.
If you are interested in taking this project, we may be willing to provide a writing sample that shows some of what we are dealing with. The writing sample is short yet descriptive enough to provide an overview of one such problem the book tackles without giving too much of the plot away.
We would first like to hear more about your experience with true crime/political science books. What do you believe makes a successful true-crime/political science book? And what do you believe constitutes a “true crime?”
