Develop a better Battery Management System

Hello, I’m a DIY’er working in the construction industry as an electrician and project manager. In the process of installing an off-grid, battery back up, whole house inverter system and building my own 48V LiFePO4 battery pack, I discovered that the Battery Management Systems (BMS) available currently are really lacking or are VERY expensive for the better products. I believe an opportunity exists to develop something reasonably priced but with set of features that NO ONE else is offering at this time. The good news is there is no need to reinvent the wheel. All of the components are actually available but not in an integrated package with user friendly network communications.
What I would like to accomplish could be described as reverse engineering a specific set of hardware products and designing a circuit board to fit all the components together along with WiFi and/or network connectivity that serves up a webpage based menu for setting the various options and viewing cell voltages, error messages etc. I have quite a bit more info to share if you are interested.
