Case Study: URGENCY MESSAGE DATA
You should prepare a PowerPoint and be ready to present and discuss. This presentation should be concise and clear, focusing on analytics and strategy. I’ll emphasize about what data and analysis you did to derive the recommendations. What assumptions have you made, and how would you go about validating these assumptions should we take the recommendations forward.
the primary goal of launching a new feature is to increase the number of bookings. One way to increase the number of bookings and conversion rate is to encourage users to complete their bookings as fast as possible. The call-to-action message that helps us achieve that is internally known as an ‘urgency message’. However, you may choose to redefine the goal based on findings backed by data that will impact the product or its offerings.
Examples of urgency messages are:
* “Prices have been rising. Book now to lock in your rates!”
* “Your check-in is fast approaching. Book now to lock in your rates!”
I would like to understand the price movement as the booking date approaches the check-in date and hear your suggestion on a business opportunity. Attached is a randomly sampled booking data from five cities with check-in between 10/01/2016 and 12/31/2016.
Please analyze the data and prepare a presentation in any format of preference (i.e. PowerPoint, keynote, or pdf)
Ensure your recommendation for urgency messages is data-driven, details implementation, and shows how you will ensure your idea is successful. A potential example question to consider (but please do not limit yourself to this example):
* At which part of the funnel should this message be implemented? On a homepage, search results page, at the property level, or booking form?
