Chrome extension with simple scraping

Chrome extension with simple scraping, for interacting with website messenger.

There is a website with a clunky messaging interface. I need a chrome extension to help me read and write messages to this site.

The extension will work like this:

* When you are on a URL for the website’s messenger, parse all DOM elements (the inbox and chat history) into sane JSON. POST the JSON to a backend URL I provide.

* The POST response might be simply “success”, or it might be a text string reply message to the current message thread. If there is a reply message, the extension should pop up or add an element, saying: “Send this reply? [reply text]. Buttons: Cancel or Send”

* If “Send” is clicked, then the message is inserted into the reply box and the messanger send button is clicked.

This project will have three phases:

1) Write a detailed spec, outlining which DOM elements you will read the inbox and message history and the JSON format you will send the backend. Also, how you will display and send the possible reply message.

2) Implement the extension and we test it.

3) Polish any bugs or issues we find.
