Admob Banners for Visual Studio 2019 Xamarin

Hello, I am trying to implement Admob banners into a Visual Studio Xamarin.Android project (not xamarin forms). I need someone that can successfully implement the banner into a test project and then provide me with detailed instructions on how it was done so I can repeat it on future projects. There is an admob example project for xamarin on GitHub but it uses a very old admob sdk and the methods there do not work for the new sdk.
