Personal Archiving
Project detail
I personally recorded the Howard Stern radio show from 2003 – 2007, in Mp3 format. I recorded the entire radio show, which is usually at least 4 hours, with all commercial breaks. I want to know the feasibility, and cost, of editing out the commercial breaks for every single show from January 2003 to August 2007, then saving the file without the commercials. There would be at least 1000 files to go through. Each file is around 50 megs a piece. I have everything labeled and organized on a google drive, ready to work on.
Edit Number 1:
This is probably no way to actually automate this process either. The commercial breaks are at random intervals; you’d have to basically pay attention to the show and know when to edit the show appropriately. Basically when Howard Stern says “We will be back after these words (or however he says it) and then edit all the way until the show comes back from break. It will be a long, tedious process. There are at least 1000 files to do this to. I can upload a sample of the show if you like.
