Rainforest Home – Yachats, OR

Hello, we are looking for an architect to help us design a unique home in a gorgeous forest just off the 101 a mile or so north of Yachats. Goals are to explore the possibility of solar although we may need to do standard electrical due to the mature forest. We want to definitely do a rainwater catchment system with multiple large storage barrels in hopes of being 100 percent reliant on rainwater. 2 bedrooms, kitchen, living room, and a greenhouse incorporated into the design.

We need someone familiar and confident in interpreting building codes for Lincoln County, Oregon. and we would want this person to be able to visit the build site at least once to help us determine the best location and orientation of the house. We have a 3 acre lot with a small stream so it would be very beneficial for the person designing the plans to actually see the site. Please do not respond if you are unable to make at least one trip. FYI, Yachats, Oregon is about 2.5 hours away from Portland, OR.
