2 factor authentication

Running a Linux SFTP file server. Need to enable 2-factor authentication for remote users with google authenticator. I am stumped and cannot get it to work. This will require onsite work at my office in Indianapolis, Indiana I believe. Will reimburse for reasonable travel from within 150 miles.
