The Goethe Pop Up Seattle, a temporary branch of Germany’s Goethe-Institut, is looking for a Marketing and Communications Specialist on a freelance basis.
+++ NEEDS TO BE BASED IN THE U.S., PREFERABLY IN THE SAME TIME ZONE (Pacific Time) +++
Responsibilities include:
Create and implement authentic promotional campaigns for digital and in-person events.
Write content for social media, website, and e-newsletter.
Create invitation mailings for special events.
Register our events on a variety of online event calendars.
Manage social media calendars, help fill content pipelines and manage communications related to social media content.
Monitor social channels for customer service and initiate conversations on behalf of our organization.
Analyze and report social media activity on a monthly basis for successes and new opportunities.
Stay current with social media trends and tools.
Build and maintain relationships with local media outlets, and pitch stories to the press.
Skills and Experience:
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English – including editing and proofreading skills.
Proficient in creating and managing engaging text and visual content.
Strong understanding of digital trends.
Experience with content creation and posting on social media.
Well-versed in social advertising with experience managing campaigns on Facebook and Instagram.
Preferred qualifications:
Knowledge of German
Knowledge of Seattle arts & culture scene
Knowledge and familiarity with local media
Background in arts & culture
Contract length: February 1st – June 30th, 2022, with possible extension to December 31st, 2022.
Scope of work: max. 20 hours per week
