General Purpose of the Position – Participate in the execution of a wide variety of projects related to public health policies and issues, in support of clients (pharmaceutical industry, NGOs, governmental institutions). Engagements will vary based on the proposals submitted to the clients. The Public Health Consultant is engaged on a project in order to comply with the requirements outlined in the proposal and based on the complexity of the tasks and the expertise level of the consultant. As part of a project team, the consultant will be responsible for the part of the project assigned to him/her and will participate actively in the execution and completion of specific tasks ensuring high quality and consistency with Policy Wisdom standards, commitments, and goals.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities – Support PW on the development of project tasks assigned such as research on public health and public health policy issues; analysis of information to write reports on public health issues; development and/or support for the development of policy strategic plans; in-depth organization and process mapping; lead work teams and manage client relationships. This particular opportunity requires candidates fully bilingual in Japanese/English, who are willing to support research and analysis on various countries.
Education and Experience – Master’s Degree in Public Health highly preferred; Bachelor’s degree in political sciences, Science, Medical Communications, or related fields; experienced in project execution, preferably in the Public Health Policy field; experienced working with Microsoft Office suite, at a high proficiency level; available to work on a flexible schedule, in a virtual environment essential.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities – Knowledge of the public health and public health policy; knowledge of global public health delivery systems, their mission and authority, and of the programs administered by regional and local public health agencies; ability to recognize, analyze, and recommend solutions to health system needs and problems; ability to communicate effectively with others, both verbally and in written form; ability to work with competing priorities and across time zones; commitment to due dates
and budget requirements; willingness to work in teams and responsive to virtual peers; multiple language skills highly preferred.
