Blog marketing for traffic increase

I have a cricket blog and I update interesting statistical events after every game. Due to timing constraints, it was not getting updated for every international cricket match.I have started with this IPL with plans to cover important cricket matches. I need help to increase traffic to the blog site, invite more readers and subscribers to a dedicated twitter handle I have for this as well. Looking for blogging and social media marketing experts preferably with knowledge in Cricket to come up with workable ideas.
